Thoughts Lead To Appreciation
After I heard some blaming power outages on Niger-Delta militants who blow up oil pipelines, I asked cynically:
Are Niger-Delta militants also the ones who switch the electricity supply on and off incessantly?
The lights come on and before one can stand to connect batteries to be charged, the supply is terminated.
Hours later, the same is repeated, this time for ten minutes.
Yet more hours afterwards, the energy distribution is resumed for an hour, terminated, reconnected for another hour and finally shut for the day!
Are we to blame the Niger-Delta Avengers for the gross incompetence of the human resources of the power sector?
My brothers and sisters of the South-South and South-East, please exercise restraint and refrain from damaging our natural resources.
