Thoughts Lead To Appreciation

DAILY ELECTRICITY HOURS | 5 Weeks Data

In the last five weeks, for an aggregate of eight days, the number of daily hours of power supplied to my home was less than 8 hours.

Days Of < 8 Hours A Day Electricity

Week 1:
1~ Friday 2015 October 9 = 6 hours.

Week 2:
2~ Sunday 2015 October 18 = 7 hours 36 minutes.

Week 3:
3~ Saturday 2015 October 24 = 7 hours 53 minutes.

4~ Tuesday 2015 October 27 = 7 hours 24 minutes.

Week 4:
5~ Wednesday 2015 November 4 = 4 hours 21 minutes.

Week 5:
6~ Monday 2015 November 9 = 7 hours 31 minutes.

7~ Tuesday 2015 November 10 = 5 hours 48 minutes.

8~ Wednesday 2015 November 11 = 7 hours 41 minutes.

Take into account the negative effects of faulty power transformers in energy distribution.

At least 5 of the 8 extremely low output days in the past five weeks may be attributed to a malfunction of the transformer.

Put differently, once a week the transformer develops a problem.

That is unacceptable.

Electricity distribution companies ~DISCOs need to invest in consumer-end technologies.

Stability Measure – 12 or more hours of energy supply in a day: Week 1 = 4 days
Week 2 = 5 days
Week 3 = 4 days
Week 4 = 5 days
Week 5 = 4 days

Hopefully, the alternation between four and five days is not a deliberate policy!!!

Improvement Indicator – More than 16 hours [2/3 of a day] worth of electricity: Week 1 = 2 days
Week 2 = 0 days
Week 3 = 0 days
Week 4 = 1 days
Week 5 = 3 days

Plus Wednesdays appear to be a poor day for private energy consumers.

On some days, though the power supplied was remarkable, electricity distribution was frequently disrupted, some times up to six times.

Energy supply needs to add value to the life of citizens.

That value is diminished with numerous ons and offs of electricity distribution.
