Thoughts Lead To Appreciation
From Umm Sulaim, Allah’s slave-woman to my brother. Peace be on whoever follows Guidance.
Although I had been discharged, I was reluctant to leave for fear of further complication from the swollen arm; the hospital-acquired swollen arm!!!
Moreover, I needed rest. The male resident doctor (the lady physician works during the day) asked the nurse to take my temperature, after I complained of a further rise, as there was no current record of it.
The temperature: 39.2 °C!!! He, promptly, ordered the nurses to take my blood sample for a blood count and administer an injection. That meant more perforations; I staunchly declined. I was still suffering the shock from the previous one, which ended up in the swollen arm.
After a discussion with the doctor, I took a cold shower and after a while, another temperature reading. It was significantly lower. Ramadhan 6/ 7th, not fasting yet.
My brother, always hope for the best and make preparations for it, though when and how you taste of it depends on your Creator. And, please, pardon the lateness of this letter: financial problems. Even if I am unable to contact you, I act in your interest to the best of my ability.
May Allah your Rabb and my Cherisher grant you the best. Aamiin!!
The recipient was accorded a code name by the British government.
As there were a number of such detainees to whom I addressed my letters, I am unable to identify this particular prisoner.
