Thoughts Lead To Appreciation
From Umm Sulaim, Allah’s slave-woman to my brother. Peace be on whoever follows Guidance.
“I am your Mahram, so remove your veil.” “No! You’re not!” “But, I may choose to be one. And I have done so.” “No! You can’t!” “Krrrr” “Don’t worry. I’m comfortable.”
“Is there any one on earth who has seen you?” “Of course! My family, pupils and female neighbours who enter my home.”
“Don’t you trust yourself?” “Of course, I do. But, I am a literalist; I follow the text of the LAW.” “You’re right!”
We need to put in much effort to explain the validity of our actions to our people. The valuable asset is the practice of what one preaches. It earns us the respect of those who respect, despite the exertion.
My brother, you still have a lot of work to do.
May Allah keep you firm. Aamiin!!
The recipient was accorded a code name by the British government.
As there were a number of such detainees to whom I addressed my letters, I am unable to identify this particular prisoner.
