Umm Sulaim's Thoughts

Thoughts Lead To Appreciation

A contentious issue some persons perceive between Islam, Christianity, and Judaism is the offspring of Prophet Ibrahim.

Nevertheless, both Ismail and Ishaq were legitimate sons of Ibrahim.

Both had viable descendants.

Both were Prophets of Allah.

Both were born of a woman – Zarah and Hajar – whom Allah blessed.

Although there was some jealousy between the mothers, none existed between the sons.

Moreover, both were loved by Ibrahim.

To maintain peace, Ibrahim separated his family and paid regular visits to Ismail and his mother, Hajar.

Prophet Ibrahim continued to play his role of a parent throughout Ismail’s life.

Both Ismail and Ishaq were Muslims as was their father Ibrahim.

Note that a Muslim is one who believes in and worships Allah alone, regardless of the era.

Both Ismail and Ishaq shared mutual respect.

Both lived under similar circumstances and had fulfilled experiences.

Finally, one cannot claim to love one and not the other.
