As-Salam alaykum waRahmatuLlah waBarakatuH.
I write concerning any al-Qaedah support for Boko Haram.
I request and advise that should such support exist, all direct or indirect assistance to Boko Haram be terminated.
I humbly ask you make a pronouncement to affiliates, adherents and financiers of al-Qaedah to discourage them from advancing any moral or material assistance to Boko Haram.
It is natural for Muslims to support and desire to aid the attainment of an Islamic Emirate in Nigeria.
Nevertheless, in so doing, each individual Muslim and the Imams have the duty to ensure that support rendered is deserved.
In the case of Boko Haram, that support is anything but merited, for the very simple reason there can be no Islamic Emirate in violation of the Sharee’ah.
Boko Haram have repeatedly acted in contravention of the Sharee’ah.
The most critical of such excesses are:
i) Conscious targeting of civilians
ii) Abductions and rape of women and girls
iii) Forced conversions to Islam
I conclude with this:
The threat to the liberties of Muslims to live according to the Sharee’ah emanates not from the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria nor from the Nigerian Armed Forces and Nigerian Police Force, but from persons and organisations such as Boko Haram.
